This presentation is directed to professionals in the mental health and substance abuse field who provide counseling at risk of experiencing burnout.

Objectives:

1. Increase understanding of burnout signs

2. Increase awareness of personal burn out

3. How to address burn out

Carmen Palacios Camacho LMHC, NCC, MCAP

Since starting her private practice, Carmen has enjoyed serving her community by providing individual and couple therapy and in addition, she provides mentoring, coaching and training in Gestalt Therapy to counseling professionals. Carmen’s passion in Gestalt Therapy reflects on the way she focuses on addressing underlying issues to achieve permanent results through a continued self-discovery journey. Carmen is a strong believer in the importance of self-awareness in order to maintain physical and emotional balance.

Carmen has been passionate about the field of Psychology since she was 13 years old and graduated as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Lima Peru and as a Certified Gestalt Therapist at the age of 22. After moving to the United States after practicing in her hometown, she decided to continue her education in Nova Southeastern University by enrolling in the Masters of Mental Health Counseling Program. After graduating in 2014, she worked in community mental health and provided individual counseling in an outpatient setting until she attained her license in Mental Health Counseling in 2019 and worked in Substance Abuse treatment facilities until she opened her private practice in March 2020. She also holds a NCC by the NBCC.
