Lena Wooten is a licensed professional clinical counselor in Kentucky and Ohio. As the clinical director of The Recovery Village Columbus, she helps enrich people’s lives through her expertise and education in substance use disorder treatment and therapy.
Lena earned both her bachelor’s degree in human services and master’s degree in education and counseling from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. With more than 15 years of experience working in the mental health and substance misuse field, Lena has an extensive knowledge of individualized care and hands-on experience working with patients who are diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.
Lena’s previous experience includes work for the Community Mental Health Centers (Kentucky) and Children’s Advocacy (Florida and Tennessee). She first joined the Advanced Recovery Systems team as the Utilization Review Specialist at Next Generation Village, an adolescent facility. Lena quickly transitioned to the role of clinical director before she transferred to The Recovery Village Columbus. She embraces this new opportunity while continuing to empower patients to overcome their personal obstacles. A member of the National Board of Certified Counselors, Lena holds certifications in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Forensic Interviewing. She also continues her education in the field by working on her certification for Motivational Interviewing and EMDR Therapy.
