Stewart Gold serves as Advanced Recovery Systems’ General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer. He oversees day-to-day management of legal affairs, including Corporate Governance, Human Resources, and Compliance. His responsibilities include spearheading ongoing acquisition activity, managing the implementation of a robust compliance program, working with Company leaders to standardize core processes in the development of a fast-growing organization, and reviewing and negotiating Company-wide contractual agreements. Additionally, he must actively respond to healthcare regulatory issues as they arise.
Mr. Gold previously worked as an Associate Counsel, Staff Attorney, and Junior Associate at Sheridan Healthcare, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Dewey & LeBoef, respectively. The range of his prior professional responsibilities includes drafting and negotiating Hospital-based and Ambulatory Surgery Center contracts for Anesthesiology, Emergency, Radiology and Neonatology services provided across the country; review and negotiating key company contracts, including managed care, IT, consulting and other vendor agreements; and working with key company personnel to address various legal needs including health care regulatory issues, employment issues, licensing issues, and insurance needs. He has also worked under General Counsel of Hospital to provide various legal needs to in-house clients, including researching and drafting memoranda, reviewing and negotiating Hospital vendor contracts and leases, addressing healthcare regulatory issues for in-house clients, and lecturing internal clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Mr. Gold has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a post-graduate degree in Law from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. He is a Big Brother program mentor and his active interests include creative writing, golfing, and running.
