No recovery facility is perfect however, the setting in beautiful monument, Colorado, hikes, the labyrinth, the swimming pool, offsite activities. As I stated before, no place is perfect and the largest area for improvement is Cleanliness in common spaces. When I was ready to depart, they had to address this by hiring additional staff so I’m hoping it’s much better now. I am pretty particular and high maintenance regarding hotel stays and there’s nothing at Palmer lake that I couldn’t live with. I just advocated for myself and spoke up when there was something I needed done. The staff are all very highly qualified, collaborate daily, and provided all the necessary education programs and services needed from psychotherapy to group education classes daily.The facility itself is in a very beautiful scenic and peaceful location in the foothills with abundant wildlife and a lovely walking trail. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.Food was prepared daily, almost always top notch, with a salad bar provided every day. There were lots of activities which are normally related to substances (billiards and games, karaoke, etc.) to gain exposure to these things in a safe place.
