Treatment Options

Denver Mental Health and Counseling offers a range of treatment options, including:

  • Dual Diagnosis: Dual diagnosis care is the treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. By treating both conditions, patients are able to heal the root of their addiction instead of just managing its symptoms. Treatment includes a combination of behavioral therapy and medication when appropriate.
  • Individual therapy: In individual therapy, patients learn to process and react to their emotions in a healthy way. With the guidance of their therapists, patients can address conflicts and relationship issues that may impede recovery.
  • Group and family counseling: Group counseling sessions provide patients with social support from peers who share similar experiences. Being part of a group throughout treatment can help patients feel supported and hold themselves accountable for their goals.
  • Teletherapy: Denver Mental Health and Counseling offers teletherapy so patients can continue working on their recovery. Using Nobu, The Recovery Village’s mental health app, patients can attend therapy sessions with a licensed professional, learn more about their mental health, and use free tools to track their progress.

Levels of Care

At our facility, each client receives a personalized treatment plan based on clinical assessments. The levels of care provided by Denver Mental Health and Counseling include:

  • Intensive Outpatient Program: Intensive outpatient care allows patients to slowly build independence while still receiving a high level of care. Patients in an intensive outpatient program receive treatment during the day and return home at night. The program provides at least nine hours of weekly care.
  • Outpatient Program: In outpatient care, patients come to the facility to receive treatment while living at home or in a sober living community. Treatment typically includes medical appointments in combination with individual and group counseling. It is less involved than intensive outpatient care, as clients receive less than nine hours of treatment per week.
  • MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment): MAT uses medication in combination with therapy to treat substance use disorders. It is particularly beneficial for patients seeking treatment for substances with dangerous withdrawal symptoms, like alcohol and opioids.
