The standard we work toward

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our Sites. WCAG is the international standard for digital accessibility, and Level AA is the benchmark used by United States regulators.

Where we stand today

We consider our Sites partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the content meets the standard and some of it does not yet. We are working on the parts that do not. Limitations we know about include:

• Some older articles, images, and downloadable documents may lack complete text alternatives or a clear heading structure.
• Some video and audio content may not yet have complete captions or transcripts.
• Some features are supplied by other companies, such as embedded video players, maps, and chat tools. We do not control how those are built. When we find an accessibility problem in one, we raise it with the vendor and look for an alternative.

How we assess accessibility

We evaluate our Sites using a combination of automated testing and manual review, and we take accessibility into account when we build or change a page. We review this Statement at least once a year and whenever we make a significant change to a Site.
